To fully experience this moment (now) requires detachment from all other moments experienced prior to this moment and those you hope to experience in some nonexistent future. Awareness is empty of all thinking; all noise from past and future non-realities. It is the beheld and released, the silent swim in a thoughtless sea of spectacular luxury, all occurring in the twinkling of an eye. Lose your mind, silence all thoughts, let your eyes twinkle and swim. The silent sea awaits YOU.

Ego seeks objects, e.g., money, religion, politics, knowledge, accreditations, affiliations, status, safety, or just “things” it can satiate its cravings with and invariably is still left empty. Even having achieved all these things, it begs for more, as if one of these “things,” just one, the right one, will be the “thing” that fulfills an endless craving for something more.
Spirituality is not objective; it is subjective. There is no ” object ” that will ever be it, and yet it is the ultimate fullness, even though there is nothing there to be possessed (objectified). Do you see? Any true form of spirituality is a complete mystery, unfathomable, and is the only “filling” that leaves you full. You’ll always know it because mystery leaves you breathless, awe-struck, speechless, and full.

Spirituality, awakening, awareness, enlightenment, whatever you call it, only exists in the present. You cannot experience it anywhere else, not even in a so-called previous experience. It has no residence in the past or the future, as those are just memories or imagination. In other words, spirituality is a constant, present-moment reality that you always are; there is never a becoming, searching-for, and finding. To speak of it in any way or to speak as if you have a mantle because you have awakened is to step out of the real. Awakening is the ultimate humbling that lacks for words but thunders silence. Be thunderous.

Separation is uniquely “I” (ego) based. That is, whatever reasoning or beliefs you adhere to, whether religion, politics, nationality, gender, ethnicity, social status, education, etc., you are the sole source of separation and any discord you sense is with that which lies outside your point of view. Furthermore, those who subscribe to your separation (agree with you) do not make you “one” with them. It just feeds your ego with the security of numbers, e.g., “look at all those who feel and believe as I do. I (we) must be right.”
Your “truth,” as it is bandied about in spiritual speak, is not truth if in any way it separates you from another, regardless of any moral code you subscribe to. Oneness is love, and love is without reason of any kind. Sinner or saint is not distinguishable. Love is our core and thus surrounds us all.

Life is without motive, and living should be too. Ego has motives that thwart the very essence of living with something perceived that must be achieved. What you are, before any thought, is stillness and tranquility ungarbled by the difficulties of change and achievement, motivated by an insatiable ego that must have in order to be. Motives driven by desire require prior knowledge and thought, while life, in its purest form, is a mystery, unabated by anything you think it is or should be. Taking a step into living is not an act of faith; it’s an act of courage requiring stepping into the unknown and the unknowable. Think about it all you want, and you still don’t know.

YOU know, but if you think you know, you no longer know. There is an innate intelligence within you that has nothing to do with mind or memory but is alone and silent and rests in a place inaccessible to your thoughts. What YOU are is always at peace, but burns with awareness only your aloneness can experience. Silence is not being free of the noise surrounding you. It is peace amidst it. You are most aware when you are most alone. However, you’ll never “know” if you think about it.

The act of searching implies that you have an idea of what it is you are searching for. “I am searching for enlightenment,” suggests that you have an idea of what it is, meaning you will recognize it when you happen upon it, and it will look like what you have already presupposed it to be. Do you see? This is not searching; it is accumulating confirmation for what you think you already know, and if you know what it is, you search for you won’t find anything else! Additionally, the thrill of finding (confirmation) will be short-lived, leading you back to another search for something to replace the last one.
Truth cannot be sought. It is dynamic and ever-transforming, and all you can do is be clear of mind and meaning and always ready for whatever shows up. You will never know, but you will be continuously surprised and amazed. It’s an exhilarating way to live!
