If you determine that there are things to do, places to go, etc., in your quest to know yourself, you will encounter both but will not find anything but more traffic and noise through which you must navigate, leading you ever farther from what you seek. The discovery of YOU happens when the search ends. “Be still, and know that YOU are God.” You can do that right now.

Don’t dismiss life with statements such as, “There’s nothing I can do about this, or I must learn from that, ” etc. Such statements are spiritual gobbledygook and an apathetic way to allow suffering, which is likely what you want anyway. YOU are life itself, and nothing exists without your experience of it. In other words, when it comes to life, you are smack in it regardless of what you are experiencing. Ultimately, life is living you, not the other way around. Give it all you’ve got with the exception of what you think it should be!

Loving “you” is the best of you. No one does “you” better than you, so why would you relinquish “you” to the dream of being a better you? Or worse, being someone else. There are no failures in life. Even when you are fixated on being something other than “you.”

No part of your story is missing, ever! Every breath you take is an incalculable miracle nothing in the universe can ever match or experience.

Mystery is the core of every experience; we either challenge it with reason or embrace it with our will. Most of us look for or create reasons for why things are as they are. Sadly, our reason occurs in the overused bed of right and wrong, which is always faulty. Without knowing why or how, it takes guts to plunge into “what is.” Let not your reason keep you from doing so.

The experience of something always surpasses the thought of it. Let not what you think spoil the splendor of what is. Peace, love, and beauty reside in a place that cannot be thought of.

You are the canvas upon which everything is painted, and whether there is color, expression, beauty, or nothing at all, YOU remain life’s only artist. In other words, you are not an expression of life; life is an expression of you. Life’s beauty leaves no room for any questions you think need answers. Let go and be amazed at what returns.

For most, the “search” is returning to the safety and security of the mythological “Garden” where all is provided. Mother, father, and angels stand guard over all the details of life that living outside the garden throws at us. In other words, safety, comfort, and convenience is the search.

You will never find yourself with such a search as it is among the thorns and thistles that the desires for comfort and safety give way to your realness. Your realness swims in a sea of eternal life unknown to the spoiling effects of comfort and safety. Adam and Eve were not cast out of the Garden of Eden. They were cast into it. Let go of the home you seek and think you deserve, and you will find the garden where YOU are known.

Measuring yourself against the achievements of worthiness, failure, success, accomplishments, and yes, even purpose is a formula for comfort, not happiness. You can be happy “with” these things, but not because of them. Knowing what YOU are outside, anything you do otherwise is knowing joy, and you don’t need anything to “know” YOU.
