Life is without motive, and living should be too. Ego has motives that thwart the very essence of living with something perceived that must be achieved. What you are, before any thought, is stillness and tranquility ungarbled by the difficulties of change and achievement, motivated by an insatiable ego that must have in order to be. Motives driven by desire require prior knowledge and thought, while life, in its purest form, is a mystery, unabated by anything you think it is or should be. Taking a step into living is not an act of faith; it’s an act of courage requiring stepping into the unknown and the unknowable. Think about it all you want, and you still don’t know.

Dwelling on the past makes you a slave to it, and it is the worst kind of slavery in that the past does not exist. In other words, any connection to the past is a self-imposed prison, virtually impossible to escape! Your mind loves the story of its suffering and trauma and embellishes it at every opportunity, making it, seemingly, real and thus, un-overcome-able. Your identity with it is little more than your story, and yet, in all the telling, it rarely goes away. So why keep telling it?
Regardless of what you have been through in the past, is it not true that right now, in the present, you are “through” it? Living now has no history. You always get a fresh start in the present, and right NOW is your freedom!

Awareness is not an evolutionary thing, nor is it a becoming over many iterations or educational processes. It is not found in self-seeking intentions, achievements, or effort. Awareness is just present, and the mind that pursues it will always overlook it by looking everywhere it (the present) isn’t. Your mind, all minds, for that matter, are in a state of perpetual movement, and until the movement of all thoughts ceases, you will only be aware of what you think, and no mind can “think” with the simplicity of creative silence. YOU are the Creator, but not because of anything your mind is moving toward. Awareness, quietly, “knows.” Be still; YOU “know” too.

Each day, this day greets you with arms open, the kiss of sunshine, nature, and all that burst forth in heavenly nuance, not because it has all of this life to give but because YOU are its Creator. The smile of all that is is your smile, your breath, your love. My smile and love in return are the only way I can share my gratitude with you for this, YOUR creation!

All that is, regardless of what it is, falls into a great big, beautiful tapestry that you create. That’s right, all of it and every little bit of it feels your embrace even when you label it unique, scary, good, bad, right, wrong, or otherwise. Existence is not full of disease, sickness, and evil forces battling good ones. Those are the fantasies of a mind disconnected from the majesty that created it, e.g., YOU. Did you get that? What YOU are “is” and always has been long before your silly mind decided it knew otherwise.
There is nothing you think “bad or good” that exists in your experience that is real. What is real is what no mind (especially yours) can contrive, and all of “that” is perfect.

All that is, all that YOU will ever be, is contained in this moment, and in whatever earthly form you happen to be experiencing, e.g., spiritual and physical are not separate. It’s all here now; right now. Do you see? We want so desperately for there to be more to existence than the physical life we are living, and, in the process, we miss living the life we have, which contains everything there is. Now is your perfection, your freedom, and the only place of love you can experience. So… experience it!

We (humans) seem to be so busy wondering, speculating, pontificating why things are happening and what the takeaways relative to those happenings should be, that we miss what’s happening. Do you see?
Life is not conscious of what you think, what you dream, or believe. It quietly moves through myriad forms and vistas, offering its infinite abundance to those who “quietly” move with it. Somewhere, amidst all the noise of what isn’t YOU are happening. That is, YOU are life’s unfoldment. Nothing is more precious, sweet, infinite than YOU, NOW! Go happen!

You cannot think or learn your way to stillness, quiet, peace, and awareness; they are not formulaic. Instead, they are states independent of mind-based activity. Do you see? Even thinking that you must quiet your mind creates the noise of process, discipline, and often, the judgment of self.
There are vast spaces between this thought and the next one, this word followed by another, etc., and those spaces contain a field, so still that awareness, simply, surrounds you. You’re there more than you think, and that’s the rub. You can’t quantify how often because that requires thinking. So what to do?
I can’t tell you; that would be formulaic. Anything I suggest will take you from it. YOU, however, already know.

Ego loves the spectacular, the awe-inspiring, mind-jolting “burning bush,” calls it a miracle, and is quick to place profound meaning in it relative to current circumstances, missing the real miracles, which are infinite in number and everywhere. A dewdrop sparkling on a blade of grass, a flower or tree swaying in the wind, snow, smiles, winks, a kiss, the smell of rain newly fallen, a breath, the whisper “I love you,” in tender moments, sunsets, sunrises, a child skipping to school, crying, laughter, etc., etc., etc.
The big and bold is the chase of ego, and in that chase, real miracles go unrecognized, and life itself is reconciled to the mundane. Close your mind, and, in so doing, you open awareness. That is, nothing is missed, and all that you experience is one great big miracle. Wherever YOU are, whatever you are doing, they are there and for no other reason than to enrich your life with wonders.

“You are ‘worthy’ of your dreams” is often said in new age speak. However, believing yourself worthy of anything is surrendering to the idea that anything you think or dream is more significant than what you are now, and that is an affirmation of unworthiness. It is not possible to know joy and happiness when hopes and dreams determine “worth.” Quality of life is not the measure of what you can be; it is what you are now, stripped bare and clean of every whim that crosses your imagination. You just can’t know YOU until you are free of any concept of worthiness. The greatest miracle of all is what you are in the midst of what is now. You are not in any way worthy of it! YOU are, however, “IT,” and that is a richness that has no measure.
