Your search for whatever it is you seek is a coming from or a going to. Did you get that? Coming from is the past and going to is the future. Neither exists. In other words, “what is” is all there is, and it requires nothing you seek in the “non-existent” (past or future)  to know its miracles. Life never passes you by; you do that unwittingly looking for it where it cannot be. Where YOU stand now is holy ground; not what you search for elsewhere. Stand still and know the looker who looks. That’s when you see.

Do you search for profound insight into the heart of humanity but seek insulation from it simultaneously? You would not be alone, whether you admit it or not. You can go to great extremes to keep out the cold, but the cold you protect yourself from is still about. Do you see?

It is easy to extend your reach for others’ comfort and safety when cozy, but those “others” remain just as cold or colder because of “wind chill, e.g., your isolation. The “heart of humanity” lies not in your heart, thoughts, or intentions. It lies in the “cold” you insulate yourself from.

The struggle to be good, however you define it, takes enormous amounts of vibratory energy, starting with the definitions of good and bad held in memory, along with all sorts of mental muck and nonsense. Until you can get beneath (before) the definitions you hold of anything containing an antithetical opposite, you will surrender your very life force to an argument based on relics of the past. That is, you will struggle with yourself over the opposite of yourself, neither of which exists in reality. I’m losing energy just saying it!

“What YOU are” exists before anything you thought in the past, now, or will think in the future. There is no struggle as there is no opposite in that awareness. Knowing YOU has no opposite; it does, however, save so much energy. Let all the “opposites” you struggle with go with a mocking giggle and friendly smile. What YOU are will take care of the rest; what YOU are is pretty darned amazing!

Choosing is not about deciding between things. It is taking ownership of what is right in front of you right now. After all, YOU create “what is,” and any denial of it is fighting against the very creator who creates, e.g., YOU! Owning “what is” is the only choice there is. You are living NOW or fighting it. Call “whatever” a choice; it will still be “what is,” regardless!

The recommendation to seek only the good forces you to restrict what “good” and its subsequent opposite are, leading to criticisms, boundaries, and division. The outcome of seeking only (fill in the blank) creates your particular categories for defining yourself and others, and in the morass of all your particulars, you make a mess. If you only seek what you have characterized as good, you will fail to see the good others seek and, worse, judge their seeking as anathema to yours.

Your way is not the way. It’s just a way, neither good nor bad, and never, ever, a reason to judge another and lose kindness for those who are no less nor greater than you or anyone else. It is the blending of all the ingredients that makes a perfect bowl of soup. And, yes, you too! Seek the “good” but not just what you demarcate good. That would be too confining and distasteful. Don’t forget the freshly baked bread! Mmm, yummy!

What YOU are cannot be studied, analyzed, defined, described, broken down, and reassembled in a form you think needs to be. Do you see? What you “think” you are is opposed to what YOU actually are, and any human endeavor to understand YOUR infinite nature takes you further from it.

YOU are Gods, dressed as humans, splendid, magnificent, and wonderful, but without any means, physically, mentally, consciously, or spiritually, to know how much more than that YOU are. It’s not worth any effort to “humanly” challenge what can only be “known” when you (the human) accept that “what YOU are” is unknowable by any means human.

The sage instructed, ” Just be still. ” Silence lets what is be “what is,” and while all is still and quiet, the unknowable holds you in its comfort, allowing the infinite to peer inside you. You will never be the same, even though you “know,” but you’ll never know why you know.

At the end of every search is love nestled in a quiet “knowing.” Not of having got there but realizing you always were there. Do you see? The will to force yourself in a fruitless struggle to find “whatever” is not born of love. It’s born of drive, and “drive” while delivering incredible feats of human endeavor costs far too much energy to enjoy. The pursuit of anything not fueled by love will drive love into love’s loss, coupled with physical and psychic frustration. Awareness is not worthy of the drive that seeks it, but “will” born of your love is. Love, and you will. Simple as that!

Making life work requires an act of love so great that the impossibility of knowing how to do it never prevents you from living it with starry-eyed wonder and amazement. Knowing that you may never know is the only fuel required to make it work, and loving any outcome the joy you experience, having done so. Love your living, and life always works.

Murphy’s law of spirituality: “You reach your level of spiritual incompetence when you think you know what it is.”

You don’t know and never will, but the funny thing about spirituality is that the greater your incompetence, the more fiercely you will hold on to it. Letting go of what you know is how you “know,” but again, you don’t.

There is only one way, and to the chagrin of many, it is not your way, any way, someone’s or everyone’s way! Happily, you’ll know the way when you’re on the way and YOU are always “on the way.” Don’t overthink it!
