There are no levels of spirituality. You cannot rise above others without separating yourself from them, which contradicts the very essence of oneness, spirituality purports to encompass. The master who points to anyone and claims that they are not as far along in the spiritual journey as themselves or others is broken. If WE are all one, then no one rises above the whole. No one! Love all and judge not; that’s how it works.

Finding beauty in everything opens your mind to what your heart already knows. There is literally beauty and wonder in everything you experience, and all of it is worthy of your love and awe. Cease all thoughts about your experience, what it means, or why it’s happening. Just embrace it, all of it!! Regardless of the experience, it is really amazing!! Breathtakingly amazing!

In spirituality, the beckon is to focus more narrowly, define more clearly, or, as it is now called, raise consciousness. However, the more detailed you become in your descriptions of life, the more wrapped up in your mind you become. In other words, attention to detail, in the spiritual sense, leads to loss of awareness. Quieting your mind removes your sense of reason from the picture of the life you uphold and thus clears your focus, letting more light show through. Under any lens, beauty is present, but if you are determined to sharpen your focus (reason), you will not see that much of it. Set your reason aside. Clarity doesn’t need it, and when it comes to awareness, neither do you!

The “balance” you seek can only happen when all the things you believe cause you suffering, or are wrong with you or life in general, are willingly experienced and embraced. That is, living completely without a single regret or wish for something other. In other words, your life is not you swinging from one high to another low and trying to minimize (balance) the span or intensity between them. It is you in the middle (fulcrum) giving cause, not balance, to the entire ride. Without YOU, nothing else exists; hence, no “ride” at all! That is the sweetest joy you can see and the only life you’re going to experience anyway. Have fun!

It has been said, “We’re all bad in someone’s story.” I’ll add, “Perhaps even in our own.” The solution to “badness” is to transform your story into no story and let others be the tellers of whatever they want. What they tell is not “what you are,” and what you speak is interpretive, e.g., embellished, jaded, and maybe even untrue. You cannot “tell” a lie if you are busy living a life, as living quietly in the moment is free of interpretation. That is a life that cannot be shaped by stories you or others tell. So, go live; quietly!

There is a Zen saying: “Only out of the mud can the Lotus grow.” All of the things you consider messed up in the world are the mud from which you, the most beautiful of all flowers, emerge, and the “mud” is never, not there, just as YOU have never not been! The world is perfect, as are YOU. Worry not and judge not the mud from which all life takes form. Sow seeds of goodness, gratitude, and kindness so that your life, regardless of its murkiness and mystery, flowers with beauty.

Let your life be an expression of “what” you truly are, not the chest-pounding assertions made in brash, bold statements, as so many do now. You have nothing to prove in life, no measure to reach, and certainly no need to be extraordinary in egoic terms. All of that was taken care of with your first life-giving breath. There is nothing like YOU in all the universe, nor will there ever be in all the infinities; no competition whatsoever, no greater or lesser. YOUR extraordinariness goes without saying, but only when you embrace your ordinary self. Just BE; no assertion will ever outdo such an expression as YOU.

To fully experience this moment (now) requires detachment from all other moments experienced prior to this moment and those you hope to experience in some nonexistent future. Awareness is empty of all thinking; all noise from past and future non-realities. It is the beheld and released, the silent swim in a thoughtless sea of spectacular luxury, all occurring in the twinkling of an eye. Lose your mind, silence all thoughts, let your eyes twinkle and swim. The silent sea awaits YOU.

Ego seeks objects, e.g., money, religion, politics, knowledge, accreditations, affiliations, status, safety, or just “things” it can satiate its cravings with and invariably is still left empty. Even having achieved all these things, it begs for more, as if one of these “things,” just one, the right one, will be the “thing” that fulfills an endless craving for something more.
Spirituality is not objective; it is subjective. There is no ” object ” that will ever be it, and yet it is the ultimate fullness, even though there is nothing there to be possessed (objectified). Do you see? Any true form of spirituality is a complete mystery, unfathomable, and is the only “filling” that leaves you full. You’ll always know it because mystery leaves you breathless, awe-struck, speechless, and full.

Spirituality, awakening, awareness, enlightenment, whatever you call it, only exists in the present. You cannot experience it anywhere else, not even in a so-called previous experience. It has no residence in the past or the future, as those are just memories or imagination. In other words, spirituality is a constant, present-moment reality that you always are; there is never a becoming, searching-for, and finding. To speak of it in any way or to speak as if you have a mantle because you have awakened is to step out of the real. Awakening is the ultimate humbling that lacks for words but thunders silence. Be thunderous.
