“There is nothing new under the sun,” it is said; thus, everything you think, believe, and know is not original to you but learned from others. In other words, what we all like to proclaim as “my life, my way” is copying someone else’s with the label of “me” or “mine” attached to it. The original “new” life is like a child seeing a flower for the first time and without the parental commentary of what kind of flower it is, or observing a starlit sky without knowing a thing about stars, just mesmerized that something so vast and beautiful shows up just for you every night. Do you see? What you think (believe, know) masks what is actually “new.”

It is what you don’t know and will never know that is new, and if you think about that, it too will fade into your reason and be lost forever to that which is “under the sun.” “New” yields to the light of mind but shines into the eternities where no thought exists. Your silence is the light.

That with which we identify is that which divides us. It is easy to say, “We are all one,” but we are separate from everything if we identify with anything. “Who we are” is unimportant; “what we are” doesn’t care. It has no identity. Find the “what” that lies beneath the “you” (identity). That is the place of oneness; it is the ultimate beauty!

You, now, are the only point in creation. Nothing before and after exists unless you, unaware and disconnected, stir it up in your mind and sully it with your thoughts. Awareness and connection manifest all that is, and it all happens right now before a single thought enters into it. Do you see?

YOU, the beholder, are, the beheld. It is ALL, literally, YOU. YOU’re kind of a big deal, but don’t let that go to your head!

The flashlight in a dark cave will always light up something regardless of where it points. If we anthropomorphize the flashlight, it would conclude that “light” shines everywhere because everywhere it points, there is light, even though we all know that is not the case. In actual human terms, if your attention (flashlight) only shines on a certain kind of television or radio program, news broadcast, political agenda, social cause, health code, religion, philosophy, etc., to conclude that you have light enough to know everything, including where you have no light at all would be starkly erroneous, and most would admit it. However, while admitting it, few do it. Do you see?

The direction your attention points in is only a direction. It is not the whole, and to see only your direction is a massive exclusion of reality. You could even say that what you focus on is unreal, an illusion. You already know that there is a lot of “otherness” around you all the time. To factor it out because your attention points somewhere else is your loss and humanity’s loss. Awareness includes otherness, even if you cannot see it. Don’t let yourself miss what the flashlight (you) can’t see. The best part of living is likely where it’s darkest.

It is profoundly shortsighted for you, me, or anyone to disregard any aspect of others living their lives in such a way that disturbs your beliefs, reasoning, or expectations. There is an incomprehensible vastness to a life that does not fit your structure, but it contains the most simple form of freedom you can experience. Perhaps that “simplicity” is too formidable and disruptive for the sense of safety you’ve (we’ve) created. Those enslaved throughout the quests of human endeavor often tremble at the vastness of freedom. It is “possibility,” too great to conceive and too daunting to pursue while cozy and safe in our beliefs contrived by others. Still, in all of us is the “knowing” there is something more inside that sets us free.

Your dilemma, the dilemma of all, is finding what’s inside that is unafraid of what’s outside. It’s there, but it’s also yours to remember. Good luck.

“And there were giants in the land,” and then none. The only quality we look to from the institutions that were once bastions of integrity is intellect pounding to the drum of rhetoric, which is the progenitor of victimization and moral decay. Institutional intelligence cannot know what “you” feel. Ever! It can only know what it thinks it knows about how you feel, and institutional minds are the new order of leadership globally. Notwithstanding all the so-called brilliance in our institutions, more and more problems emerge in our collective formations.

Stop looking to the world to solve the world’s problems. The world knows not what it does, and if you continue looking to it, neither will you. Who are these “giants,” these women and men of renown? Look behind the eyes of these words you now read. YOU may be one of them. There are so many!

A leads to B, C, D, etc., the causal world we are told to live in and accept. However, such a world is also the basis for “I am not responsible for my life.” In other words, someone or something pressing on me caused it to happen, and “I” therefore need not accept what happens as something I willingly accept as the experience I am seeking. WRONG! A, B, C, and D all exist simultaneously with “you” in realms you cannot begin to comprehend in human form, making you the non-caused effect of all that is. Do you see? A B, C, and D do not exist before your experience of yourself, so nothing “presses” on you that isn’t already YOU.

Lose the thinking and vocabulary of “to me,” e.g., “why, is this happening to me,” or “this shouldn’t be happening to me, etc., etc.” In time, you will know that all that happens is YOU, being you in a non-causal experience. The “effects” of which are nothing but YOU, albeit incredible!

We think we know, but we don’t. About what? About everything or anything. Your learning, culture, ethnicity, faith, family, invention, and on and on are not the boon to peace, raised consciousness, or awareness you or the world seek. Remember a time in your life, and thus common human experience, when nothing was known, and only then was there the awareness that comes with a deep connection to silence. It is the silence of not knowing. It is the silence of nothing showing up as everything.

Such silence cannot speak, think, or understand. It merely hears, as if, the voice of Gods illuminating the depths of infinity. Find this silence once again, and you will know, but such “knowing” can never take residence in your mind. It’s worth a visit. Peace, Carl

What you think (about anything) will always be limited by what you think. Do you see? The infinite is not containable in thought or any stream of thoughts. Your capacity to fathom the eternal only happens when it is clear that the vibration of “nothing” (the infinite) is the vibration of your mind. In other words, the infinite begets infinity, and that is not something you can know or think about! Lose your mind!

All the virtues humans ascribe to, such as honesty, trust, kindness, joy, caring, etc., are not pursuable, as they are the result of awareness. That is, “what YOU are” underneath all the stuff of human experience and everything you think and believe. Do you see? YOU already are what you seek to become, making the only worthy pursuit in life, if you must have one, knowing YOU, and that knowing will never be achieved from a so-called spiritual journey!

Let “what YOU are” simply BE. All that other stuff will tag along anyway.
