Learning can only take place in an atmosphere of “not knowing.” If you think you know something from the past, something you learned, then you are not in a state of “not knowing.” You’re merely remembering. Learning is newness and only happens “now” when the window through which you view experience is completely clear of any thoughts about it. Simply, a mind without its knowing is a mind that can learn, but even better is a mind that is aware that there is a vast unknown that is knowable.
